As Vice President, Product and Production, for NBC Digital,Robert Angelo is charged with supporting the networks digital strategy. He and his team oversee product development, web-based and mobile platforms, video-on-demand, as well as social and interactive television technologies. He works closely with sales, marketing,network executives, show producers and third party content providers to maintain and expand the wealth of original content both on NBC.com and multiple digital platforms.During his tenure at NBC.com he has expanded the NBC presence on smart phones and mobile platforms to includeNBC’s iPad application, and a second screen application - NBC Live. He is currently working on expanding content into the 10-Foot Experience as well as developing new interactive experiences for NBC shows.
In addition, Angelo produces weekly original online segments of Jay Leno’s Garage for JayLenosGarage.com. The site also includes the Your Garage social network for fans to share their car stories and photos. Jay Leno’s Garage received a 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Short-Form Non-Fiction Program.
Angelo started his career at Quokka Sports building websites for the Sydney and Salt Lake Olympic Games. Angelo transitioned that experience to the Disney Interactive Group as lead producer on the international gaming and learning platform, DisneyBlast, before joining NBC.com.
A California native, Angelo earned his bachelor’s degree from The Academy of Art in San Francisco. He currently resides in Sherman Oaks, California with his wife and son.
